With Friends Covering Our Back (alternative lyrics)

Paroles

Since high school, through college, through the families Years apart, but never forgotten, never lost And when we meet, it's deep, it's intense Like we sat in class together just yesterday

Grew up together, grew old together, developed Each for himself, but as friends together We celebrated, we cried, we held each other A tight net, but everyone in freedom, everyone respected

With friends covering our back We stand and we never crack Through the storm and through the fight Brothers side by side through the night

(Nur Bodhrán/Percussion, spoken/shouted, rhythmisch) Who's got your back when the walls cave in? WE DO! Who stands with you through thick and thin? WE DO! Who's your family when blood runs thin? WE DO! Who's gonna fight until the end? WE DO!

Danced, went wild, missed our stop on the night bus Riding home together, never alone, never lost Left, right, crazy trips, we discussed it all Different opinions endured, never shamed, never excluded

No Facebook, no WhatsApp, no digital blah blah A place, a time, the meeting – that was our command Colorful and open-minded, not as ideology, but lived Supported others, didn't exclude, that was our victory, our victory

Chorus

With friends covering our back No fear of the coming black Whatever comes, whatever may Together we face the break of day

Not everything was perfect, not everything went smooth But I'm proud of us, proud of this Clan, damn right We developed, each for himself, but together Friendship over years, over distance, that's our song, our song!

We are brothers from different mothers No one left behind, no one stands aside! We are brothers from different mothers We each walk our own way – side by side!
