Before the Frames

Vedanto_Art · English · 2026-10-05 · synth pop 80, new wave, freedom of thought, authenticity, agora · Album: The Warm Machine

A late-1980s style synth-pop meditation on authenticity and freedom of thought. Analog synthesizers, drum machines and a cold electronic atmosphere carry a very human message. The lyrics question a world of painted smiles and gilded cages and long for an agora where disagreement was not dissent but dialogue: before the silence, we were loud.

Lyrics

We built a world of painted smiles Where words are watched and thoughts are filed But underneath the polished screen The same old fears remain unseen

We speak in codes, we walk on glass Afraid to break, afraid to ask But truth was never born in chains It lives in open, messy brains

Before the silence, we were loud Before the frames, we were allowed To think, to doubt, to disagree And still remain what humans be No thought forbidden, no voice banned The mind is free, the mind is grand

We used to meet on common ground Where different voices could resound The agora of the modern age Has turned into a gilded cage

Individual streams must flow For rivers of the world to grow No dam can hold the force of thought No frame can catch what freedom wrought

Before the silence, we were loud Before the frames, we were allowed To learn, to change, to understand The other, and to lend a hand In difference, we find our way The light of thought must have its say

Before the silence... Before the frames...
