E Don Do (It's Enough) is a Nigerian afrobeat anthem of rebellion, built on the classic Fela-style groove with horns, congas and call-and-response, but rooted in the present. Inspired by the youth-led #EndBadGovernance protests of 2024, it targets corruption, self-serving elites and the rising cost of living, and celebrates the generation that refuses to stay silent. Pidgin lines carry the anger and the hope: the youth have woken, and they are not going back to sleep.
E Don Do
Dem dey chop the money, we dey look One man, one mansion, empty pot, empty book Contracts to the cousins, roads full of hole The oga dem dey dance while the people lose control
Oya! (Oya!) We no go sleep again! (We no go sleep!) Enough is enough! (Enough is enough!) We rise, we rise, Naija! No more silence, no more fear The youth don wake, the youth dey here!
Petrol price dey climb, the salary dey fall The rich man's daughter, she no feel it at all Light for the few, and darkness for the rest Dem say "be patient" — patience don pass test
We no be small, we no dey cry We dey march, we dey ask why From Lagos to Abuja, one voice, one fight E don do, e don do — we want the light
E don do! (E don do!) We no go sleep again! (We no go sleep!) Enough is enough! Naija must change!
E don do... E don do...
