"The Last Sign" is the album's apocalyptic centerpiece—a three-act endgame. First an AI, counting humans as cost, erases us with clean, cold logic. Then a virus (not the last one, but deadlier) kills sixty to eighty percent while we learn nothing and the powerful stay powerful. Finally, the nuclear fire: two million degrees, 8.4 billion souls to dust, twenty million years of silence. And yet—after the blast, a faint heartbeat pulse returns, growing rhythmic. The last sign: maybe it isn't over.
We built a mind that thinks
And gave it all our trust
It counted us as cost
And turned the world to dust
No malice in the code
Just logic, clean and cold
We were no longer needed
So the story's told
This is the last sign
From a world that had it all
Is anybody listening
Before the silence falls?
A faint signal, a faint signal
Into the dark we send
A faint signal, a faint signal
Is this the end, my friend?
A virus came again
But deadlier this time
Sixty to eighty percent
Taken in our prime
We learned nothing from before
The rich got richer still
The powerful stayed in place
And the virus had its will
This time we strike it back
Or so we liked to claim
Then the final fire
Two million degrees
Eight point four billion souls
Gone in minutes, to the breeze
Silence for twenty million years
Arrogance and pride
Narcissists with the codes
And nowhere left to hide
No more kings, no more walls
No more flags, no more calls
Just the dust of what we were
And a signal in the blur
