"Dead Air" ist ein klaustrophobischer Synth-Pop-Tauchgang in die digitale Reizüberflutung. Auf flackernden Synths und fragmentierten Drum-Patterns fängt der Track das Gefühl des Ertrinkens in einem endlosen Feed ein—wo Echt und Fake, Wahrheit und Lüge alle mit derselben Lautstärke spielen. Der Chorus ist ein Schrei ins Rauschen: "Static! In my head!" Anders als die späteren Songs des Albums bietet er keine Auflösung—das Outro löst sich zurück ins Rauschen auf. Der Kopf ist voll, aber die Seele kann nicht lesen.
